If you’re not making an Irresistible Offer when you speak, you may, indeed, be doing the heavy lifting for other experts in your category.
Let me tell you what I mean by that.
If you’re getting out there and speaking to groups – large or small – whether it’s on stages, teleseminars, webinars, or even if you’re hosted by someone else, and you’re just coming in to give great content, and you’re not making an Irresistible Offer, here’s what’s happening:
You’re enrolling people in the idea that they need to get their body into shape, they need better communication in their relationship, or it’s time to have somebody else take on their books — whatever it is that you do.
When you don’t make an Irresistible Offer, you get them all the way up to the line of knowing that they need it, and then you walk away. I think that’s a disservice to them.
Then what happens?
They know they need what you do and they’re looking for it, so the next person who comes along, who may barely provide any value at all, but he makes an offer, so they sign up.
You did all the heavy lifting, and the other expert gets the client.
I see that happen all the time, and it breaks my heart!
